Do you love showing off your dirndl(traditional austrian dress), lederhosen(Leather pants), or gold hat? Are traditional costumes a way of life for you, and do you wear them at every opportunity? Do you find your moments of joy at the numerous traditional events during the Harvest Festival? Then take your Salzburg/Austrian costume on your travels, spread the spirit of Bauernherbst (Harvest) around the world, and share your experiences with us.
What is it about? Traditional costume is not just clothing, but a connecting element that brings people together worldwide. That’s why we are sending the Harvest Festival on a journey around the globe this year. Join in! Pack up the Bauernherbst spirit and show us where you are visiting in your traditional costume, or – if you live in another country, how you wear your costume there.
Who can participate? Anyone who wants to take their Salzburg/Austrian costume on a journey beyond borders or who already has it with them as a loyal companion and sends us a photo or video of themselves, their group, their association, etc., in costume.
How do I submit my photo or video?
- Take a photo and (optionally, additionally) a short video (video with a dance move, singing, short message,…) of you in Salzburg/Austrian costume in front of a landmark or a beautiful place. It is important that it is outside of Austria and not generated by AI.
- Submit the entry from now until September 16, 2024, via two options: a. Directly here on this page using the contact form (below) b. Post your photo on Instagram with the hashtag #bauernherbst and tag @salzburgerland
What happens next? Our prominent Bauernherbst jury will select the most creative entries for the online voting. Vote daily on the website for your favorite entry and encourage your friends, family, and acquaintances to join in. Attractive prizes await the entrants and voters. At the end of October, we will announce the best entries – with a bit of luck, you will be among the winners and receive valuable prizes.
The submission deadline is September 16, 2024. The community will vote until October 17, 2024. The winners will be announced on the Bauernherbst homepage at the end of October 2024.
